Rotary Valves for Precise Bulk Material Handling

Rotary valves operate on the principle of volumetric conveying: bulk material enters the star-shaped rotor pockets by gravity, and as the rotor turns, a defined quantity of product is delivered to the discharge outlet. The discharge rate is determined by the valve’s geometry and rotational speed, ensuring consistent and controlled flow.

Standard Rotary Valves

Our standard rotary valves handle an extensive variety of bulk materials such as ash, coal dust, cement, sewage sludge, plastics, crystalline acids, methyl cellulose, carbon black, and other powders or granulates.

We offer a complete range of designs, materials, and configurations:

• Welded steel constructions suitable for the majority of industrial applications
• A broad selection of options to meet specific process conditions and material properties

Specialized versions are available for high-pressure, high-temperature, or adhesive/bridging materials, and can be fitted with heating or cooling jackets, leakage air collectors, overfill protection, and more.

Self-Cleaning Rotary Valves

Our self-cleaning rotary valves are designed for challenging materials that tend to stick, bridge, or block during handling. Typical applications include moist coal dust, cement, sewage sludge, plastics, methyl cellulose, and other adhesive or clog-prone products.

These units are supplied in welded designs using standard industrial material combinations, with numerous options and customizations available. Depending on the process, the valves can be heated, cooled, or equipped with advanced features such as leakage air collectors and overfill protectors.

The integrated forced-cleaning mechanism ensures reliable and continuous conveying of materials that cannot be handled by conventional rotary valves.
