KOELLEMANN screw coke preheaters are engineered to efficiently heat petroleum coke – a nearly pure carbon by-product of petroleum refining -from ambient temperature (≈0°C) up to approximately 200°C.
After heating, the petroleum coke is mixed with hot pitch in a kneader to form a paste, which is pressed into blocks and baked to produce anodes used in the Hall-Héroult aluminium electrolysis process.
KOELLEMANN’s advanced design delivers major advantages in performance, durability, maintenance, and overall footprint.
